What changed in the game, newest first.
The game moved and got its own address
The old server gave up, and the Well moved to a new, bigger one. The game now has its own address, wishdivers.ru, and this site.
- The new server holds more players at once; fights run on several cores.
- All the updates since October 31 came along: bosses with phases, the warrior's lid, the druid's callings.
- Progress from the old server didn't move: heroes start over. Kuzmich grumbles, but lowers you down anyway.
It got more dangerous
We asked ourselves "isn't this too easy?" and answered: yes. The deep hurts now.
- The Mortgage goes easy only in your first two fights. After that her Stamp is wider and faster.
- Enemies from layer 2 down hit harder.
- Every elite below the first layer has a big blow: a red circle under the hero. Step out or stun it in time.
- Warden Dunkworth gives the warrior and the druid tips on their callings.
- The Watchman's Tally and Thunder's charges show on the hero plate.
The Champion, the Alarm and the Trim
The second-wave bosses got crown blows, and each layer got its own enemies.
- The Library Champion is a real boss now: he puts his blows off, and in Deadline they all go off at once.
- The Eternal Monday rings the Alarm: a ring wave, the green gap is safe. Tear off "Tuesday" and the next ring is cancelled.
- The Greener Grass does the Trim: a cross of blades; two crosses in phase two, plus a mower in phase three.
- New enemies on layers 2–4: the Slacker, the Deputy Head, the Magpie, the Mole, the Sprinkler and more.
- Lost connection? Your loot stays: the game goes on, the boss fight is where you left it.
- The game loads twice as light: about 5 MB before the first floor instead of 10.
The warrior's lid and the druid's forms
The warrior's shield is the lid of the town cauldron. Now it's what he fights with.
- Throw the lid: it bounces, lies on the floor and comes back. Charge to it, jump on it for a Gong, toss it with the axe for Bowling.
- Warrior callings: Watchman (the lid as cover), Brawler (the lid as a missile), Thunder (lightning between you and the lid).
- Druid callings: Den is the bear, Lynx the cat, Gardener a tree with flowers, bushes and hives.
- The druid's form comes with the calling.
- You now pick a calling together with the class, for all three.
Bosses that feel like bosses, and the Rematch
Bosses used to stand there and take it. Now each has three phases, a blow worth fearing and a moment when it's tired.
- The health bar is split into phases. On a phase change the boss changes its look, and a big line tells you what to do.
- The Mortgage brings down the DENIED Stamp: a shadow darkens under the hero. Two Stamps in phase two, three in a row in phase three.
- After a crown blow the boss is tired: hit it for more damage.
- Died at a boss? Press Rematch: back at the door, full health. Kuzmich has taken your loot already.
- Levelling is faster: about a level a run, no grinding.
A knight in a bucket
The game has a new look: the logo and the icon show a knight riding the bucket down with a cauldron lid in hand.
- A new logo, icon and link picture.
- Heroes and townsfolk got new models: the smith swings his hammer, the woodcutter chops.
- The prologue explains who Tommy is, why he wished for your hero and what the Well is.
- In town the Bag, Skills and Talents are at hand, and "Next…" walks your hero to the goal.
- Menus are smooth: buttons fade, windows slide in and melt away.
- On a phone the first floor is lighter to draw; your battery will thank you.
Mage callings
The mage chooses what to be: Fire, Frost or Storm. Each has its own rule and its own buttons.
- Fire builds heat and blows it up, Frost shatters the frozen, Storm leaves sparks for lightning to run along.
- The fifth button is the crown skill: it charges up in a fight and for well-timed dodges.
- Mage runes and legendaries with rules work now; Kuzmich gives the first one at level 7.
- Smith Thumper reforges items.
The druid's forms and talking townsfolk
The druid learned to shift shape, and the people of Bottomwell learned to talk.
- The bear takes the hits, the cat deals damage, the tree heals. Each form has its own attack and buttons.
- Five more townsfolk talk now: Smith Thumper, Granny Trough, Tommy, Chronicler Notewell and Warden Dunkworth. Some can come with you on a run.
- A new mage is sturdier.
- The interface is smooth: nothing jumps on hover.
Stronger gear and warmer townsfolk
Gear matters more, and you can make friends in town now.
- Every item has its own level: higher from a boss than from a guardian, higher still in cold water.
- Every boss has its own loot table, shown in advance: a class set and named items.
- Auntie Bun, Kuzmich and Mayor Wantsmore answer questions, remember your answers and pass on gossip. Warmth brings a discount, a secret and a title.
- The journal has a new Codex page: enemies, bosses and the notes you found.
The Eternal Monday, the Greener Grass and the druid
The Well got deeper: twelve floors and two new bosses. And the healer became a druid.
- Floors 7–9 are Monday Morning with the Eternal Monday, floors 10–12 the Neighbours' Gardens with the Greener Grass.
- The druid replaces the healer: roots, healing over time, a wasp swarm and a bear form. Old healers became druids with nothing lost.
- A five-frame prologue, and every hero has a story of their own.
- The town came alive: guards show the way, townsfolk chat, cats and pigeons run about.
- 40 achievements with titles and frames. You can hold the phone sideways.
Where to dive, and the Mortgage 2.0
At the cellar door you can now choose where to start and which water to dive into.
- Cold water: tougher enemies, but more gold and XP and stronger items.
- Every floor has a guardian: while it lives, the hatch stays shut.
- The Mortgage's arena breaks, her phases show without reading, and a PAID OFF stamp lands at the end.
- All four skill buttons open by level 4.
- Bottomwell is rebuilt with granted wishes: the bakery, the forge, the market, the bathhouse, the tower and the Lighthouse.
Diablo-style mouse controls and a shared town
On a PC you can now play with just the mouse: click the floor to walk, click an enemy to hit it. And in town you can see other players.
- Three control modes: mouse and keys, keyboard, or simple. The C key switches between them.
- The phone fight screen is cleaner: one menu button instead of seven, and the map folds away.
- The early repayment to the Mortgage is clear now: a golden arrow leads to the bucket.
- A "Sell junk" button in the bag. Lock any item you want to keep.
- First run of the day: the gold you bring up counts twice.
- New hit sounds, sparks and flashes. If they're hard on the eyes, settings have a mode without flashes and shake.
- A new logo and font.
Chapter 2 and the Library Champion
There is somewhere to go after the Mortgage now: the Drowsy Library and its Champion on floor 6.
- Beat the Mortgage and the bucket comes right away, no hunting for the last enemy.
- You can see your experience: a level bar and "+N XP" after a fight.
- Items are compared with what you wear: green is better, red is worse. Armour recolours your hero.
- Notes, chests and levers show a hint, and a big button on a phone.
- Phones have a left-handed / right-handed setting.
The town of Bottomwell, getting ready for the test
The town of Bottomwell is here, with townsfolk and quests, and the main story begins.
- Dungeons with a main path: gates, levers, shortcuts and enemy camps.
- Deeper combat: knock enemies off balance, interrupt their spells, and a last-moment dodge gives a counter-attack.
- New loot: pick your reward, "Equip best", goals for the day and the week.
- The game works offline and installs on your home screen like an app.
- The ✉ button sends feedback with a screenshot right from the game.
- A gentler start, and the Mortgage hits softer in your first two meetings.
The foundation: your progress is saved
The game got its own server: your level, talents and loot are saved now.
- Play as a guest, no password. Sign-in with VK ID, Yandex ID and email comes later.
- Lost connection? You have 20 seconds to come back without losing the run.
- Bosses got phases and warnings on the floor, so you see where the next hit lands.
- The Mortgage, elites and the Bucket talk during fights, in co-op too.
